Water Bottles (Please fill with water only).
Your child is welcome to bring a water bottle to school each day to drink in class. It must however has a 'sports lid' that eliminates (well reduces the risk of spills). We encourage the children to take them home each evening, rinse them and bring them in full each day.
On Friday December 2nd we held two Christmas Craft sessions in school. A big thank you to all of you who supported us and made the sessions so successful and enjoyable for our children.
Autumn 2- Topic
This term our topic is 'celebrations'. Please find below our topic overview for this term.
Reading and writing in Reception

Autumn 2- Religious Education
During RE this term we will be discussing what it means to welcome and be welcomed. We will continue to talk about our class family and our home family. During this topic we will experience a Baptism and understand that through this rite we are welcomed in to God's family.
As part of our religion topic 'Welcome', we talked about how we feel welcomed in the classroom and how we can make others, who visit our classroom, feel welcome. We made badges that said 'Welcome to Reception. I am happy to help'. We wore them around school and helped out where needed.
A Baptism in Early Years
Today we were joined by Father Alf to celebrate the Baptism of our doll Thomas. Thomas looked beautiful in his christening robes and was presented for Baptism by Jax and Mia. His Godparents were chosen by all the children and included Ethan, Amelia, Elliott and Lily. Thomas received his shawl and candle at the end of his celebration.
A visit from the library
Today, (8.11.16), Mrs Peachey from the Rochdale Library Service, came to visit us. She brought an exciting bag with her containing two lovely books and a few special friends! We really enjoyed listening to her stories and joining in with the actions and repetitive phrases.
Parents Maths Challenge
Thank you to all the parents who came to take part in our maths challenge activities on Monday 17th October. We had two, fun packed sessions, which took place in our indoor and outdoor classrooms. The children and adults completed tasks such as skittles, hoopla, pattern printing, bike racing, height measuring, hopscotch and delivering letter to the correct house. All these activities highlighted that maths is fun!!
