6 (Year 2)

Sea Life Centre Trip

Today, Year 2 went on a trip to the Sea Life Centre at the Trafford Centre. The children had the opportunity to see marine life in their habitats and learn how they move and what they eat. Year 2 took part in a workshop about marine habitats and told the lady everything they knew. They watched animals being fed, learned about fossils of the sea and had the chance to touch some of the smallest sea creatures. The children and staff had a fantastic day!

After break time today, the children came into class to find that a huge mess had been made in our library area. The culprit was a small red bus named 'Naughty Bus'. We were very angry at Naughty Bus for messing up our classroom. We even decided to give him a yellow card! We are hoping that Naughty Bus has decided to behave like a good little bus but we will see!

Class 6 spent their prayer and worship reflecting about new beginnings. The children discussed the new beginnings they come across all the time. We looked at the seeds on the altar and thought about the significance they had in the session. We looked at some scripture and listened to The Parable of the Growing Seed and  talked about what Jesus was saying in the story.

The children then wrote a prayer thanking God for helping them to grow to be good people and placed them on the altar. At the end we talked about what actions we can now take to show God that we are grateful.

Class 6 had a great surprise this morning! They had to play a game of hide and seek. Someone had left clues during the night and the children followed them. At the end of the clues they found some toys and a book. The book they found is called ‘Lost in the Toy Museum’ by David Lucas. Some of the children thought that the toys had escaped from a Toy Museum!
