Information from the head teacher

Dear Parents / Carers,

We have become aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19 within St Joseph’s RC Primary.

I am writing to let you know that the school is well prepared for this circumstance and we have followed all Public Health, Government and Local Authority guidance to ensure that the school remains a safe place for our children, their families and our staff.

All parents of children who have been in close contact with the member of the school community who has tested positive have been informed and we have closed down the class set involved. These parents have been advised that their child must self-isolate for 14 days in line with the government’s test and trace guidelines. If you have not had a phone call from school this morning, then your child is unaffected and can continue to attend school as planned.

All staff who have had recent and close contact with the member of the school community who has tested positive left the school site immediately and will also self-isolate (working from home) for the next 14 days.

School has put in place stringent hygiene measures, infection control measures and social distancing measures and we have followed all necessary actions for this situation. Full details of the measures in place can be found on our school website.

If you have any further questions, please contact the school office via email or telephone.

I thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.

Mrs Dunne
