Welcome back everyone!
We hope you are ready for another fun filled half term!
Mrs Gore and Miss Jackson
There are lots of preparations underway in Class 11- getting ready for our big Jubilee party! We have been busy making pastry ready for our jam tarts (120 of them!!) and also learning lots about the Queen so that we can celebrate her 70 years on the throne in style! Don't forget your red, white and blue on Thursday!
Fantastic effort everyone with your skillful crown making! Wow Miss Jackson and I have been very impressed! Class 11's Kings and Queens have also delivered some incredibly powerful speeches- we are going to have a tough time choosing a winner!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon being visited by first an archaeologist who told us he was excavating the tomb of Tutankhamun. We were then transported back to Ancient Egypt and a scribe talked us through stories about the Gods and Goddesses and about daily life in this period of history. We even got to dress up as ancient Egyptians! It was great fun.
Bonjour! We have been having lots of fun this week, learning greetings, numbers and even fruits in French! We even tasted the French delicacy-chocolate brioche, which was delicious! Yum!
Here at St Joseph's we have purchased a new spelling scheme. The details of how it works are attached for your convenience. The children all have a log in (in their Reading Record) The spellings will run from Friday-Friday. There will be a traditional test on the Friday where children can demonstrate their knowledge of the words and the pattern focused on during the week.
Any problems please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your support.
Mrs Gore
