LETTER TO PARENTS - MONDAY 4TH JANUARY 2021

Good evening everyone,

it is with great sadness that I write to you again today, but this time to be informing you that following the government announcement this evening we will no longer be welcoming back all of our children on Wednesday.

As I am sure that you will have heard, schools can only open for the children of key workers and those pupils who are classed as 'priority pupils' during the period of national lockdown - from tomorrow up to half term.

I will be sending out shortly a link to to an electronic form which you will need to complete if your child is eligible to attend school during this period. I would ask that you complete this form as soon as possible so that I can then inform you tomorrow if your child can attend school from Wednesday 6th January 2021. It is vital that we have numbers as soon as possible. The form is electronic and very quick to complete.

Key Workers / Critical workers:

The key worker list has not changed since the last lockdown. It can be found here -

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision#critical-workers

Priority pupils:

Priority pupils include looked after children, all children with a social worker, children who have an EHC Plan and also other pupils who school have identified as vulnerable. If your child falls within the group we will contact you and ask you to complete the form for us. If we do not contact you tomorrow (Tues 5th Jan) and you wish to know if your child falls within this group then please contact school via the office@ email.

Unlike during the last period of national lockdown, all of the children who fall within the key worker category or priority pupil category will be expected to attend school full time throughout this period.

Home learning will be provided for all children and I will be working hard tomorrow to make sure that I can contact you tomorrow with the full details of how to access this. The home learning will be provided from Thursday onwards.

Free school meals will still be provided but I will not have the information about this until I have spoken to our providers Dolce. Again, as soon as I have this information, I will be in touch with parents.

Please reassure your child/ren that we will get through this difficult period and hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Let them know that school staff are going to work really hard to make sure that they continue their learning and that we are here to support them. Please also let them know that we will be making sure that they are in regular contact with their class teacher throughout this period too.

Kind regards,

Mrs C Dunne
