Home Learning Daily Tasks

Can you be the prayer leader in your home? Teach your family our daily prayers!

This week's prayer

God is breath

God is the strong wind

that shapes the earth and the sea

and makes the stars shine

to the farthest edge of the heavens.

God is the breath of all living creatures,

the breeze that stirs their hearts,

that refreshes their souls

and renews their spirits.

(Images of God for young children: Marie-Helene Delval EERdmans 2001)

What does this prayer make you think of? Can you draw a picture?

Maths Challenge

Roll your dice twice and note down the numbers. What two digit number do you make? Can you switch the two numbers to make a different number? Find the numbers on your grid square and circle them. Repeat until you can recognise two digit numbers, say them confidently and find them quickly on your grid square.

In English we have been listening to the story of Naughty Bus. A Naughty Bus arrived in our classroom and got up to lots of mischief!

In Religion we have been learning about FAMILIES. We have been talking about all the different kinds of families that we belong to and how we are all members of the family of God. We created role plays to show how members of a family love and care for one another.

Our topic this half term is TOYS. We have been looking at toys from the past and discussing what materials they are made from and how they work. We have been making our own versions of a 'cup and ball' toy.

We really enjoyed our 'Bring a toy to school day'!

During our school's Geography Week, we took a trip to Heywood Library. We looked out for human features and physical features around Heywood. When we got back we made a class map to show the route we had taken.

In Geography we have been learning to locate and name the world's seven continents.

Seven Continents Song

In Science we have been investigating shadows. We went outside on a sunny day and measured our shadows. We wanted to find out how and why our shadows changed during the day.
