Class 12 (Year 5)

Timetables for home learning

Class 11 and 12 have set up "home study documents". These are both in the packs sent home with children and accessible here on the website. These tasks outlined in the "home study documents" are to be completed in the books provided in the home study packs.

These documents contain a number of links to helpful websites that will support children in their home learning. As well as tasks to be completed.

This document contains all of the tasks that you will need to complete. It will explain each writing task, pick 1 a day and complete it. Remember how important it is to complete these tasks to further your learning.

A new one (along with the relevant pictures or paragraphs) will be be placed on the website on Friday ready for next week.

Staying Active

Joe Wicks is doing a live stream of PE lessons to help keep children active during the holidays.

They start at 9am Monday-Friday.

Welcome to year 5! In class 12 we are looking forward to an exciting year of learning, exploring and investigating together.

Miss Farrelly (Class teacher) and Miss Jackson (Class TA)

Our quality text to focus on this half term will be "Journey to the Rive Sea." by Eva Ibbotson.

For our topic we have started researching the Mayans. We will be learning about the Mayans civilization including what they grew and ate. We will be comparing the similarities and differences between ancient religions and different religions today.

During science week we went to see Dippy the dinosaur and gathered lots of information and facts which we are going to use to make our own website!

In science we have been carrying out experiments to identify which materials are soluble and to see if they can be reversed into their original state of matter.

On Friday 10th January we welcomed parents into our classroom to celebrate the feast of the epiphany and to 'Stay and Pray' with us. The children wrote and said their own prayers thanking God for their gifts of love, families, kindness, and our qualities.

In English we used inference to create freeze frames to show our understanding of the book so far.

We used practical apparatus to make multiplications.

Writing our names in hieroglyphics.

Solar system fact hunt.

We made a volunteer display in R.E.
