We discussed Bonfire Night and what it actually was. Although most of us knew that we would be visiting an organised Bonfire, and watching a fireworks display, we didn't know why we did this. We talked about a time in British History and discussed a man named Guy Fawkes. We found out about his plot to blow up The Houses of Parliament and other important buildings in London in 1605. We found out that he wanted to kill the King.
We looked at the shapes the fireworks made in the sky and designed our own picture using these shapes and patterns discussed. We used oil pastels on black card to create the effect.
We have been working on making our Maths more efficient. Today, when adding 3 numbers, we could see that making 10 first would make our calculation much easier to solve.
For example: 3 + 4 + 7 = We made 10 first by adding 3 + 7 (our number bonds) then added the 4 on to find our answer.
