Spirit of Sport Awards 2019 - 2020
Each year we choose two children to receive our Spirit of Sport Award. This award is given in recognition of a child's contribution towards sport within St Joseph's. Please find below our recipients for the academic year 2019 - 2020.
Kacper Pyrka
Kacper has proved himself to be an extremely able sportsman and has competed across a number of sports, successfully, throughout his time in school. He has excelled in tag rugby, cross country, athletics, basketball and football. Kacper has a natural sporting ability, but more importantly has a desire and a willingness to work hard at all that he has done. It is this drive and hard work that has set him apart and this is the reason he has been awarded with the Spirit of Sport Award for the current year 6 cohort. Well done Kacper! (Mr Callaghan)
Gabrielle McCulloch
Gabrielle has proven herself to be a fantastic student-athlete, succeeding in everything that she commits herself too. This is evident through her sporting achievements across various sports including; Basketball, Cross Country Running, Handball, Athletics, Tag Rugby and Swimming. Gabrielle has particularly excelled in her Swimming where she is currently ranked number 1 in the Country for Breaststroke in the female 11 years of age category. This feat would not be possible without the talent, determination and positive attitude that Gabrielle possesses. I am thrilled to present Gabrielle with her Spirit of Sport award for 2019-2020 in recognition of her sporting contributions and I wish her every success in the future. Great job Gabby! (Mr Riley)
